The University of Oulu (UOULU) is an international research and innovation university engaged in multidisciplinary basic and applied research, and academic education. UOULU is one of the largest universities in Finland, with an exceptionally wide academic base. UOULU has been awarded the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) Label in 2013 as the first research university in Finland. Internationally pioneering experimental and human population based research is conducted as a collaboration of different disciplines.
